LDSJournal.com

For those of you who keep journals, but find yourself with a vast collection of volumes you don't want to keep track of, or if you need a new start or need to begin keeping a journal, there is a solution!
I started journaling on LDSJournal.com's website as a trial and found out I absolutely love it. I am on the computer a lot with school, so it is nice to just wind down the day with an entry before I shut off the computer. The site is password protected and no one can have access to your journal unless you allow them. It also has a personal history form with questions and other features. I'm not advertising for the site, but I really do like this new way of journaling. :) Check it out and let me know what you think.

Organ Workshop

This week I was able to attend the BYU Organ Workshop. I am one of the ward organists in my ward, and have been taking private lessons for almost a year. If you have ever had any inkling of wanting to learn to play the organ, GO TO THE WORKSHOP. It is fabulous! I am glad my friend Marybeth, and her mom Rita, first got me interested in playing the organ when I was 13 or 14. I am getting better with using my feet, and it is becoming a lot of fun.

This is a Rodgers Organ. Something I learned at last year's Organ Workshop, is that every single organ is totally different, kind of like people! Even when they are built by the same company, they are different.

During the workshop, we had the chance to play the Tabernacle Organ. Each person had 2 minutes to play something. We also went to the organ builders' J. Bigelow's in American Fork, where they are currently building a $1 million organ for a Lutheran church in Iowa.

Better Posture

I was browsing through health books in the Provo Library the other day when this book jumped out at me. You know how your moms always told you to "put your shoulders back" and "straighten up," "quit slumping" etc. Well, bad posture really does have its negative effects and I know I could definitely improve my posture. This book has excellent exercises you can do to improve posture and gives the rationale for having better posture. I want to check it out again!

Idaho

We were able to go to Idaho last week for a very quick trip. We made it to Jess's niece Ashton's blessing which was so neat. I was also able to go to the Rexburg Temple with my mom.

I love this picture I found on the web, since it shows the spectacular Idaho sunsets!

Park City

The end of July, my brother-in-law John passed his radiology technician test! Yay! He was so excited and relieved. We were excited for him and Elyse. To celebrate, we met them at the Park City outlets (where there are great deals!) and went to a play at the Egyptian theater, which John's brother had a lead part in. We sat at the tables right in front! We were close enough to get sweat and spit upon, but were spared. It was great to spend some time with them.
