Walking to Kentucky

A few weeks ago, when Jess got home from school he asked, "So, what did you do today?" "We walked to Kentucky!" was my reply. How does that work, you might ask? Below is what is known as the Purple People Bridge. It connects downtown Cincinnati with downtown Newport, Kentucky. The bridge was originally built in 1872 as Cincinnati's first railroad bridge to cross the Ohio River. In 2001, it was converted to a pedestrian only bridge, and that is how we walked to Kentucky. (Info from Wikipedia).

The Purple People Bridge

Cincinnati side

By "we" I mean Bryce, and a gal and her daughter from our ward, and I. It has been wonderful to have someone to go do things with while both of our husbands are very busy in school.

Newport side

In Newport we found a neat park with a huge memorial bell and this patch of fun grass. We practiced taking some pictures of the babies. Christy, a photographer, helped me with some ideas.
